Intel® WiMAX Products
Laying the foundation for broad and cost-effective deployment of WiMAX technologies, Intel is helping to deliver unprecedented mobility for Internet-connected devices and the people who use them.¹
Increasing broadband on the go
Providing extended connectivity options on the go, WiMAX will be integrated into laptops, Ultra Mobile PCs (UMPCs), Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs), smart phones, PDAs, cameras, and more. Intel is enabling widespread integration in these devices by delivering support in an affordable and compact silicon solution—the Intel® WiMAX Connection 2400, formerly known as Baxter Peak.Delivering the path to embedded WiMAX
Enabling standalone customer premise equipment (CPE) for high-bandwidth,"wireless DSL-like" usage, the Intel® WiMAX Connection 2250 provides an integrated System-on-Chip (SoC) that may be used in devices connected to WiMAX networks based upon the IEEE 802.16-2004 and / or IEEE 802.16e standards. This technology allows service providers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to deliver affordable WiMAX solutions today with an easy path to the embedded WiMAX support delivered in Echo Peak and Baxter Peak.
