International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors
The International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS) is an assessment of the semiconductor industry's technology requirements. The objective of the ITRS is to ensure advancements in the performance of integrated circuits and remove roadblocks to the continuation of Moore's Law. This assessment, called roadmapping, is a cooperative effort of global industry manufacturers and suppliers, government organizations, consortia, and universities.
The ITRS identifies the technological challenges and needs facing the semiconductor industry over the next 15 years. It is sponsored by the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), the European Electronic Component Manufacturers' Association (EECA), the Electronic Industries Association of Japan (EIAJ), the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association (KSIA), and the Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association (TSIA).
Intel innovation makes Moore's Law a reality
For nearly four decades, Intel innovation has made Moore's Law a reality, touching billions of lives and changing the way the world lives, works and plays.
International SEMATECH is the global communication center for this activity. Technology Working Group leaders and members from International SEMATECH are involved in the process and have the opportunity to input into the discussions that produce the ITRS.
Development of the ITRS is led by Intel Fellow Paolo Gargini, who is Chairman of the International Roadmap Committee.
