Intel® Remote PC Assist Technology for Business New options in remote manageability
Grow your business with new technology from Intel
Intel® Remote PC Assist Technology¹ extends the advantages of Intel® vPro™ technology to small business by enabling remote manageability over the Internet. This technology is offered as an option on PCs built using next generation Intel vPro technology, and allows users to send a call for help to a service provider if they encounter an issue with their PC, even with a blue screen or a non-responsive machine. Intel® Remote PC Assist Technology is also available on PCs eligible for Intel® Upgrade Service that have purchased an upgrade license.
A core element of Intel Remote PC Assist Technology is the ability to connect securely over the Internet through the connectivity gateway. The connection between the end user's PC and the reseller/service provider is seamlessly integrated with existing Independent Software Vendor (ISV) remote management consoles for the reseller/service provider technicians. With this solution, Intel Remote PC Assist Technology enables the service provider to connect to client computers for proactive maintenance, and even severe support issues such as a non-operational OS, network issues, or non-functioning software. This enables a low touch model for a reseller/service provider to support end user PCs remotely.
As a result, instead of having to accommodate two to three service provider site visits and several days of downtime, the PC can be accessed over the Internet and a tech sent on-site only to replace the identified failed part. The service provider delivers more efficient performance and the customer is happy because disruption to their business is minimized.
Intel® Remote PC Assist Technology offers end users on-demand access to service when they encounter any issues. Enabling the delivery of these services results in new business opportunities for resellers, managed service providers and independent software vendors. Intel Remote PC Assist Service creates a secure connection over the Internet instead of within a corporate network environment.

¹ Intel® Remote PC Assist Technology requires the computer to have Intel® Remote PC Assist Technology-enabled BIOS, Intel® chipset with Intel® Remote PC Assist Technology mode enabled, network hardware and software, Intel® Active Management Technology, as well as connection with a power source and the Internet. This service operates via a wired LAN connection only and requires a direct Internet connection (no proxy server) with the ability to connect to external Internet locations (locations outside the local network). A remote service provider supporting the Intel® Remote PC Assist Technology must be used to perform remote management. The Intel® Remote PC Assist Wizard application and third party remote management software tools supporting Intel® Remote PC Assist Technology must be deployed on the target computer running one of the supported operating systems in order to perform remote management operations. Use of the technology may require configuration by the purchaser. Intel® Remote PC Assist Technology is not available in all geographies or on all computer systems.
