Intel’s proof-of-concept design for Base Transceiver Station (BTS) offers comparable advantages, delivering a flexible high-performance solution for next-generation BTS deployments. Based on programmable Intel® Network Processors, this design allows Telecom Equipment Manufacturers (TEMs) and service providers to support multiple radio technologies using a common platform architecture. It also enables them to adapt to new technologies and evolving protocols through software changes, so they can avoid expensive and disruptive network overhauls.
