Ram Huggahalli
Ram has been in the computer industry for more than 15 years joining Intel in 1993. He is currently a Principal Engineer and a network platform architect in the Communication Technology Lab of CTG/Intel. His focus areas are network acceleration strategies for server platforms, platform coherency protocols and applications with network I/O dependencies. His career at Intel started off with development of industry standard benchmarks such SYSmark95 and performance characterization of desktop application workloads under new operating systems. He then was deeply involved in guiding memory technology trade-offs for graphics, MT and other emerging workloads. His contributions included influencing memory controller optimizations for integrated graphics traffic patterns. More recently he has been an integral part of introducing and driving a host processor (IA) based network acceleration strategy. His research involves exploring deep integration of networking components onto CPUs and platform data movement optmizations for high speed networking. He also enjoys working on modeling and simulation methodologies. Ram has 4 patents with several pending. Prior to joining Intel, Ram worked for NCR corporation and has MS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Engineering Management from the University of Missouri.
