Intel® Wireless Display (Intel® WiDi)
Intel® WiDi won't connect to TV adapter with Microsoft Windows* 8

When connecting Intel® Wireless Display (Intel® WiDi) to the TV adapter using a Microsoft Windows 8* system, the TV adapter may need to have a firmware update before the connection will work properly. Following the steps below may resolve the situation.

  1. Download the 15.3.1 version of the Intel Wireless drivers found here. Please note that these drivers are only listed for use with Windows 7*, but will be used with Windows 8 in this procedure.
  2. If the Windows 8 system already has Intel Wireless drivers that are a later version than 15.3.1, uninstall the drivers.
  3. Install the 15.3.1 drivers downloaded previously. Install or launch Intel® Wireless Display, which should now be able to successfully connect to the TV adapter.
  4. Once the connection is established you may be prompted to update the TV adapter firmware - follow the prompts to complete the firmware update. You can also manually update the TV adapter firmware.
