Update WiMAX connection settings and software

Receiving Updates from your WiMAX1 Service Provider

Periodically, your network service provider may need to update your WiMAX connection settings or your WiMAX software. The Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiMAX Connection Utility will prompt with the following message:

WiMAX updates are available. These updates are critical for normal operation of WiMAX. Download the updates now?

You should click Yes to this query. If you click Remind me later, you may suffer a service degradation, and you will be prompted again.

1 WiMAX connectivity requires a WiMAX-enabled device and subscription to a WiMAX broadband service. WiMAX connectivity may require you to purchase additional software or hardware at extra cost. Availability of WiMAX is limited; check with your carrier for details on availability and network limitations. Broadband performance and results may vary due to environmental factors and other variables. See WiMAX Technology for more information.
