Wireless Adapter Unavailable After Uninstall of Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software

Issue:
After uninstalling Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth® Technology 3.1.1311 on Windows 7*, the Intel wireless adapter fails to enumerate.

Workaround:
Either of the following options resolves the issue:

  • In device manager, right-click and select scan for new hardware to trigger a rescan
  • Restart the computer

Scope:
Windows 7 only.

This issue happens during uninstall with /norestart on the command line or by clicking no to the restart dialog box that displays when uninstalling Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth® Technology 3.1.1311.
