Intel recommends uninstalling all wireless software applications before upgrading to Windows 8* or Windows 8.1* (8/8.1). You might see popup messages requiring you to uninstall Intel wireless software during the OS installation. Before uninstalling your wireless software download the current version of Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software for Windows 8.
Windows 8* installation can be blocked unless you uninstall Intel PROSet/Wireless WiFi Software prior to the OS upgrade. This only occurs when upgrading from Windows 7* to either Windows 8 or 8.1*. You can upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 with Intel PROSet/Wireless WiFi Software installed.
Uninstall the Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software WiMAX and update the WiMAX software after Windows 8 is installed. Windows 8 installs correctly with Intel PROSet/Wireless Software WiMAX, but the WiMAX software might not work after the OS upgrade. This only occurs when upgrading from Windows 7 to either Windows 8 or Windows 8.1. You can upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 with Intel PROSet/Wireless Software WiMAX installed. The Intel PROSet/Wireless Software WiMAX for Windows 8 is compatible with Windows 8.1. The latest software version is 7.5.
