For all adapters, use the Intel® Driver Update Utility. The utility recognizes your adapter and automatically installs the wireless driver and software.

The Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection and the Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN have an inbox Windows 8 driver. Intel Customer Support does not support the use of Windows 8 with these adapters. You may want to ask questions about these adapters on our Community Forum.

After upgrading to Windows 8 your Intel Bluetooth adapter works with the Microsoft supplied driver. The additional Intel Bluetooth adapter features and profiles require you to install Intel® PROSet/Wireless Bluetooth® Software for Windows 8 version 2.6.1210.

After upgrading to Windows 8, your Intel® WiMAX adapter works with Wi-Fi only. No Windows 8 inbox WiMAX drivers are available. You need to install Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiMAX Connection Utility for Windows* 8 version 7.5.0.

After upgrading to Windows 8, you need to update your software. Download and install the current version of Intel My WiFi Dashboard software.

Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software fails to install properly after upgrade to Windows 8*

• If your system had Windows 7* and Intel PROSet/Wireless Software installed prior to upgrading to Windows 8, then Intel PROSet/Wireless Software will not install the first time. You need to install Intel PROSet/Wireless Software a second time for it to install correctly.
