Background
Bluetooth® 3.0 + high speed (HS) gets its higher speed from the 802.11 radio protocol. The inclusion of the 802.11 protocol adaptation layer (PAL) provides increased throughput of data transfers. Intel’s implementation is based on the Bluetooth® 3.0 +HS standard and supports both Microsoft Windows 7* and Windows 8*.
Three components are required for Bluetooth® HS features and function with Intel® wireless adapters.
- WiFi (Intel)
- Bluetooth® HS (Intel)
- Bluetooth® Stack (Intel or 3rd Party)
Supported Intel® Wireless Adapters Bluetooth 3.0 + high speed is supported on the following Intel® wireless adapters with Microsoft Windows 7* and Windows 8*:

Software download and installation
After installing Intel PROSet/Wireless Bluetooth Software you will need to update or install Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software.
