Consumer devices or notebooks that are connected to the personal area network are viewed under Connected Devices in the Intel® My WiFi Technology (Intel® MWT) utility menu.
Devices move from the Previously Connected Devices window to the Connected Devices window when the device connects to the virtual access point generated by Intel® My WiFi Technology. If the device moves away from the notebook, enters sleep mode (where Wi-Fi is disabled), or wireless signal strength weakens, the connection may be temporarily lost until the device reconnects.
To resolve issues:
Device is within range with weak wireless signal strength.
Fix: Bring device closer to notebook and/or within line of site. Monitor signal strength in Intel® My WiFi Utility.
Device is connected to the correct network ID (SSID) and security setting.
Fix: Read security settings for your Profile.
The device is not in sleep mode/off.
Fix: Wake or turn on device.
Device battery is low and connectivity drops frequently.
Fix: Power up battery on device or plug in device.
Notebook battery is not low nor is the PC in sleep mode.
Fix: Power up battery, wake PC.
Device does not have access to the Internet through the notebook which is connected to the notebook.
Fix: Disable sharing filter to allow devices to share Internet connection. Some certificate-based (login) Internet sites may not allow remote sharing of connection.
