IEEE* 802.11a requires proper antenna

Before installing Intel® wireless adapters supporting IEEE* 802.11a, verify with the laptop manufacturer that the laptop includes a 5GHz (802.11a) capable antenna and meets the regulatory requirements of the country where the laptop will be used.

Installation of these wireless adapters in a laptop that does not have the proper antenna may be illegal and may result in poor performance and possible damage to the equipment. See Regulatory information regarding hardware installation or upgrade for additional information.
