Profiles provide an easy way to categorize different personal area Wi-Fi network environments. For example, a profile for work may be used to connect to IEEE 802.11g WEP security based Wi-Fi work printers. In the home environment, an alternative profile could be used to connect to your personal WPA based devices.
To create a profile, open the Intel® My WiFi Technology Utility. Select the Profile button. You can choose to add a new profile by selecting New button. Select OK to save.
The following options will be available to tailor the new profile:
General Settings: Selection of profile name and Network ID.
Security Settings: Selection for security type for your profile
Sharing Settings: Selection for blocking device access to internet connected sharing or network bridges connected to notebook. To share the internet connection from the notebook to connected devices, filter network traffic can be set to disabled.
Advanced Settings: Provides the ability to modify wireless channel settings.
