A notebook vendor or end user may install Intel® My WiFi Utility, by utilizing the custom install option within Intel® PROset Wireless Software 12.4.x.x (or later) installer.

Note For Intel My WiFi Utility installation to occur, the notebook must meet hardware and operating system requirements. Your computer manufacturer may have altered the features incorporated customization, or made other changes to your adapter software. Please contact your computer manufacturer for the latest system specific updates and technical support information.

Steps for installing :

The following instructions are for manually downloading the generic Intel® PROset Wireless Software from the Intel.com site.

To get the Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiFi Software and install it on your laptop:

1. Point your browser to http://downloadcenter.intel.com.
   
   
2. Select Wireless Networking> Intel® WiFi Products > Intel® Intel WiFi Link 5300 and Intel WiFi Link 5100 products
   
   
3. Select your Microsoft Windows* Vista operating system, and click Go!
   
   
4. Under Software Applications, click Download for 2. Intel PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility version 12.4.x.x or later version.
   
   
5. On the Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility for Windows Vista* page, click Download.
   
   
6. On the INTEL SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT page, click Accept at bottom of page.
   
   
7. Click the link for the software.
   
   
8. Click Save. Save locally to a folder on your PC.

1. Double-click Autorun.exe (ICS_v32.exe).
   
   
2. Click Install Software on the Intel® PROSet/Wireless installer screen. Click Next.
   
   
3. Read the license agreement.
   
   
4. Select I accept the terms in the license agreement. Click Next.
   
   
5. Click Next to accept the default install destination folder. Otherwise, click Change to specify a different location. Then click OK and Next.
   
   
6. elect the Custom option. Selecting Custom displays all the available software options including the Intel® My WiFi Technology Software.
   
   
7. Click the drop-down menu icon for Intel® My WiFi Technology. The X is removed.
   
   
8. Click Install. The installed components are listed in the Intel® PROSet/Wireless Installer after the software is installed on your computer.
   
   
9. Click Finish.
