Intel® Core™2 Processor with Viiv™ Technology
Cannot see media library through the tv connected to the NMD

If you cannot see the Intel® Viiv™ Media Library through a television connected to a networked media device (NMD), verify the following:

Intel® Viiv™ Technology-based PC Power is On
Intel® Quick Resume Technology Driver is Enabled
Router Power is On
Intel® Viiv™ Media Server is On
Device has Access to Intel Viiv Media Server



Intel Viiv Technology-based PC Power is On
If the Intel Viiv technology-based PC is powered off, the device cannot access digital media files.

Solution: Power on the Intel Viiv technology-based PC.


Intel Quick Resume Technology Driver is Enabled
If the Intel Viiv technology-based PC is in sleep mode and Intel Quick Resume Technology Driver is not enabled, the device cannot wake the system to access the Intel Viiv Media Library.

Solution: Enable Intel Quick Resume Technology and set the recommended power options.


Router Power is On
The router needs to be powered on to access the Intel Viiv technology-based PC.

Solution: Power on the router. See router manufacturer documentation for instructions.



Intel Viiv Media Server is On
The Intel Viiv Media Server distributes content and applications to connected devices in the home network. The sever needs to be on to do this.

Solution:
Complete the following steps from the Intel Viiv technology-based PC to turn the server on.
  1. Start the Intel Viiv software.
  2. From the Intel Viiv settings, select options.
  3. Select media server options.
  4. Select turn on.
  5. Select media server on.

Now, go to your television that is connected to the NMD andverify that youcan access media.



Device has Access to Intel Viiv Media Server
Devices need access to the Intel Viiv Media Server to stream media from the Intel Viiv technology-based PC.

Solution:
Complete the following steps to grant thedevice access to the Intel Viiv Media Server:
  1. From the Intel Viiv Settings screen, select view network map. The device should be visible on the map but is identified with an unknown icon (question mark).
  2. Click on the device icon.
  3. Select next.
  4. Select approved and next.
  5. Select a device type and next.
  6. Select yes to grant the device access to the Intel Media Server.

Now, go to your television that is connected to the networked media device and verify that you can access media.
