TokenExpress™ 16/p Adapter
Locally Administered Address and Protocol.ini Files

The Protocol.ini files in LAN Manager, IBM OS/2 2.0 and Windows* for Workgroups allows the use of a locally administered address. Each one differs in the setup:

    LAN Manager:
    Node Address=4000 0000 0000
    where 4 is the starting digit for the node address

    IBM OS/2 2.0 and/or LAN Server 2.x:
    NetAddress="400000000000"
    where 4 is the starting digit for the net address (note the use of quotes and NO spaces!)

    Windows for Workgroups:
    Node Address=0x4000 0000 0000
    where 0 is the adapter number and 4 is the starting digit for the node address

In all cases, a locally administered address must begin with 4, 5, 6, or 7.

This applies to:
TokenExpress™ 16/p Adapter
