This installation document applies to the TokenExpress™ 16/p adapter software release v7.0, which is available in the archive TE16DISK.EXE.

General Installation

All of the files necessary to connect to the NetWare* server are supplied on the TokenExpress 16 adapter driver disk in the \NETWARE directory. These files should be copied to an appropriate directory on your workstation hard disk.

1. Insert the TokenExpress adapter driver diskette into drive A:.

2. Make a directory for your network files on drive C:. For example type: MD NETWORK

3. Insert the TokenExpress driver disk and copy the appropriate ODI driver file, plus the additional Novell support files to the hard disk. For example:
   COPY A:\NETWARE\TE16ODI.COM C:\NETWORK
   COPY A:\NETWARE\LSL.COM C:\NETWORK
   COPY A:\NETWARE\IPXODI.COM C:\NETWORK
   COPY A:\NETWARE\NETX.EXE C:\NETWORK

4. Edit your workstation's AUTOEXEC.BAT file and add the following commands IN THE ORDER SPECIFIED below:
   C:\NETWORK\LSL.COM
   C:\NETWORK\TE16ODI.COM
   C:\NETWORK\IPXODI.COM
   C:\NETWORK\NETX.EXE

NET.CFG options:

MAX FRAME SIZE
The maximum frame size for the adapter. Default is 4216, maximum is 17960, minimum is 632. This parameter affects the resident driver size. Values smaller than default may affect performance.

PORT
This parameter is only required if more than one adapter is installed in the system. If no PORT parameter is entered, the driver will use the first TokenExpress 16 adapter it finds.

NODE ADDRESS
Enter this parameter only if you wish to manually administer node addresses in your installation. If not entered, the Burned In Address will be used.

If an address is entered, it must consist of 12 hexadecimal digits, the first being 4, 5, 6 or 7.

FRAME
The link level frame type. Supported values are TOKEN-RING (default) and TOKEN-RING_SNAP.
