Token Ring Adapters
Error Message: "Cache memory allocator out of available memory"

Symptom:
While loading the TokenExpress™ 16 Adapter, NetWare* 3.x or 4.x server driver OLIOTK162.LAN or TE16.LAN, the driver fails to load and the following error message is displayed:

"Cache memory allocator out of available memory"

Cause:
The TokenExpress 16 adapter needs buffer space below 16 MB to load the driver and run. The Novell* default for cache buffers below 16 MB is only 8, which isn't enough for the TokenExpress™ 16 adapter.

Solution:
Increase the amount of reserved buffers to 64 below 16 MB by adding this statement to the STARTUP.NCF:

SET RESERVED BUFFERS BELOW 16 MEG = 64

This applies to:
TokenExpress™ 16/p Adapter
TokenExpress™ EISA 16/4 Adapter
TokenExpress™ EISA 32 Adapter
TokenExpress™ MCA Adapter
