Token Ring Adapters
Hardware Specifications

The TokenExpress™ EISA 16/4 Adapter is designed to take advantage of the high-speed bus master data transfer capability of EISA systems like the Compaq SystemPro. This high-performance LAN adapter provides exceptional throughput, even on large, complex networks. Its intelligent bus master capability allows direct read/write operations between the computer's main memory and the network card, thus freeing the CPU for other processor-intensive operations.

The TokenExpress™ EISA Card is an EISA busmaster card. It uses a 16-bit data path rather than the full 32-bit data path. The EISA card will match other EISA's throughput in single adapter per server configurations, but will exhibit higher CPU utilization especially in multiple board/server configurations.

Software Configurable: All configuration of the TokenExpress™ EISA 16/4 Adapter is done through software. And because there are no jumpers to connect or switches to set, installation and configuration are fast and easy. Users simply select interrupt levels and I/O address options through the EISA configuration program.
