As of January 1, 1996, electrical products shipped in Europe are required to meet CE Mark compliance. This mark is analogous to FCC Certification in the US. There are two levels: one representing that a product is safe for use in office/industrial environments, the other representing that the product is safe for use in home environments (in addition to office/industrial environments).
