Follow these steps to set up an automatic cleaning job:

1. First, make sure the "cleaning tape installed" option is selected for your Autochanger. To verify this, go to Device Management, highlight the Autochanger, then click the right mouse button. Select properties and go to the Detail tab. If the "Cleaning Enables" option is blank, re-run the Changer Option setup from the floppy disk that came with the StorageExpress™ 2.0 system setup kit.

2. From the main ARCserve* Manager menu, there should be a Toolbar at the top of the Window, just below the file menu. If the Toolbar is not there, Click "Window" and the "Toolbar" option to bring it down.

3. On the Toolbar, click on the Tape Cleaning button (the fourth button from the right). Some tabs will appear that look like a normal backup setup, but instead of showing servers in the Source tab, the SCSI host adapter, with all of the drives, will show up.

4. Expand out the arrow and choose the proper SCSI ID for the Autochanger.

   Note: This will only work on an Autochanger.

5. From the Source tab, set up the Method, which is the interval between cleanings. Then from the Schedule tab, choose the start date and any exclusions you might have.

6. When the job setup is complete, click on the stoplight to submit the job.
