Software Assessment Tools
Non-English submissions return error that it contains corrupt data.

Issue:
When attempting to upload results file, user sees one of the following or similar:

  • ..." file corrupted and unable to upload, please rerun your assessment".
  • ..." Tool Report File contains corrupt data. Editing the Tool Report File causes the data to be corrupted. Please rerun the assessment and submit a valid Tool Report File."

Cause:
Some language/region settings use decimal commas "," to denote a decimal separator instead of a decimal period ".".
For example: 1234.56 may be represented as 1234,56.

The use of a decimal comma "," is causing the Submission web interface to interpret the results file as corrupt. This is currently under investigation.

You can work around this issue by setting your Windows* Operating System Language/Region to English.

Workaround:
Windows XP*:

  • Click: Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Region and Language Options
  • Set Standards & Formats: English (United States)

  • Rerun the Software Assessment Tool and resubmit the new Tool Report File.

Windows 7*:

  • Click: Start -> Control Panel -> Region and Language
  • Set Format: English (United States)

  • Click: Additional settings. Confirm decimal character is a period ".".

  • Rerun the Software Assessment Tool and resubmit the new Tool Report File.
