Intel AppUp™ software for Windows*
How to stop the Intel® Services Manager for Intel AppUp(SM) center ver. 3.x

In some rare occasions it may be necessary to stop the Intel® Services Manager (ismagent.exe) to fix an issue with the Intel AppUp™ client.

The Intel Services Manager is a program that runs in the background to ensure the apps you have downloaded are properly entitled, and it also checks to see if there is a newer version of your apps and the Intel AppUp software are available.

The easiest way to restart the Intel Services Manager is log out of your Windows* session (or reboot), then log back in. This will stop the Intel Services Manager process. The next time you launch Intel AppUpSM center or after a system reboot Intel Service Manager will automatically start.

If you would like to manually stop the Intel Services Manager, follow these steps:

  1. Close the Intel AppUp™ client
  2. Open Task Manager
    1. Right Click on the Task Bar.
    2. From the menu select Task Manager.
    3. Select "ismagent.exe".
  3. Click on End Process button in the bottom right.

The next time you re-boot, launch Intel AppUp™, or one of the apps Intel® services Manager will automatically start.
