Before proceeding, you must have the Secure Data Vault password.

Once you have upgraded to Intel® Anti-Theft Service, you cannot recover your password for accessing previous versions of SDV.
If you do not have the password, you can retrieve it by logging on to Intel Anti-Theft Service V1.5. Go to the SDV tab, click Retrieve SDV password. | |
Next, upgrade to Intel® Anti-Theft Service Provided by McAfee.

After upgrading to Intel Anti-Theft Service Provided by McAfee (version 2.0), the SDV containers remain in read-only mode. | |
- Log into Intel Anti-Theft Service with the account associated with the registered computer.
- Click Unsubscribe near the top of the page to uninstall Intel Anti-Theft Service. Follow the steps to uninstall. A reboot might be required.
- Open the Secure Data Vault from the Start menu.
- Select the container you want to move to the McAfee* Encrypted File Folder solution, press the Open button in the menu bar.
- Enter password and click Login.
- Click Ok to the notification.
- Right-click the open container from the list and select explore.
- Open My Documents and create a folder to copy the files to.
- Click window displaying the files from Secure Data Vault, press Ctrl+A.
- Drag files to the new folder.

Default behavior for McAfee Encrypted File Folder is to automatically encrypt the documents in the My Documents folder in addition to several other locations. This process is recommended for a smooth transition to Intel Anti-Theft Service Provided by McAfee. | |
