Windows 8* Support for Intel® Anti-Theft Service
If you are planning to upgrade to Windows 8* and are currently using Intel® Anti-Theft Service, we strongly recommend you unsubscribe/uninstall Intel Anti-Theft Service before upgrading to Windows 8. Please refer to our
user guide for detailed steps.
If you upgraded from Windows 7* to Windows 8, please make sure the following components are installed before starting new Intel Anti-Theft Service enrollment (or even reinstalling the client software).

Intel® Management Engine (ME) Components:
Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features
Check if Intel Management Engine Components software is installed (shown below)
If Intel Management Engine (ME) Drivers are not installed, download it from your computer manufacturer’s support Web site.
NET framework 3.5
Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off
Select the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0) check box and click OK.
Click on Download files from Windows Update
This will download and install the .NET Framework 3.5.
This requires an Internet connection.
Restart the browser if you get a message after installing .NET framework.

If you enrolled in Intel Anti-Theft Service on Windows 7 and didn’t uninstall Intel Anti-Theft Service before upgrading to Windows 8 with the option Custom: Install Windows only or Personal files only
Verify that all the pre-requisites are complete (mentioned at the top)
Login to ATservice.intel.com
Please ensure the right machine is selected in top right dropdown
Click on reinstall Device Software and follow the step
This should reinstall the client software on your machine (even on Windows 8)

Verify that all the pre-requisites are complete (mentioned at the top).
If Intel Anti-Theft Service free trial was bundled with your Ultrabook™, then search for “Intel Anti-Theft Service Signup” and click on Activate Now.
If you have the activation code for Intel Anti-Theft Service, then just follow the instruction on the package. If you enrolled in Intel Anti-Theft Service on Windows 7, and upgraded to Windows 8 with the option Upgrade: Install Windows and keep files, settings and applications
The files, settings, and applications are moved to Windows 8 with this option and no further action should be required from the user.
