IntelŽ Anti-Theft Service (IntelŽ AT Service)
IntelŽ Anti-Theft Service recovery scenarios

Note Make sure you have admin privileges on the PC before proceeding.

For devices enrolled with Intel® Anti-Theft Service, there are three common recovery scenarios. Follow the instructions for the scenario that fits your situation.

Hard drive was replaced
Motherboard was replaced
Hard drive and motherboard were replaced

Hard Drive was replaced

  1. Login to the Intel®Anti-Theft Service using your current password.
  2. Select your PC from the PC list dropdown menu.

  3. Under Services/Tools, click Reinstall Device Software.
  4. Select I agree to the Terms and Conditions.
  5. Click Install Now.
  6. Click Finish once the installation is complete.
  7. If the customer has SDV data to recover (if they backed up), see Recovering SDV container for Non-Intel AT enabled laptops or Intel AT enabled laptops, and follow those steps.

Motherboard was replaced

  1. Follow the steps to recover data in SDV containers for Non-Intel AT enabled laptops or Intel AT enabled laptops.
    Note It is important this step is completed before you proceed.
  2. Uninstall IATS:
    1. Click Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program.
    2. Select Intel® Anti-Theft Service.
    3. Click Uninstall.
  3. Uninstall SDV:
    1. Click Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program.
    2. Select Intel® Anti-Theft Service - Secure Data Vault.
    3. Click Uninstall.
    4. If the Intel® Anti-Theft (Intel® AT) Signup tool (wizard) is available, click activate now. If Intel® AT signup tool is not available, customer can call Intel Customer Support at 1-800-257-8404, option 2, for assistance.

Motherboard and Hard Drive were replaced

If Intel AT Signup tool (wizard) is available, click activate now. If Intel AT signup tool is not available, customer can call Intel Customer Support at 1-800-257-8404, option 2, for assistance.

Recovering SDV container in Non-Intel AT enabled laptops:

  1. Copy the backup of the container(s) to the PC being used to recover the contents.
  2. Login to the Intel Anti-Theft Service using your current password.
  3. Select your PC from the PC list dropdown menu.
  4. Click Recover Container.
  5. Select I agree to the Term and Conditions.
  6. Click Download Tool and install.

  7. Click All Programs > Intel® Anti-Theft Service - Secure Data Vault > Secure Data Vault.
  8. Enter your SDV login password and click login.
  9. Click File > Register existing container.
  10. Browse to the location where you have backed up the container and click Open.

  11. This message displays on successful registration of container. Click OK.

  12. Click the registered container name and click Open. The container is now in Open mode.

  13. Double Click on the container name. This opens the files in a new window.
  14. Copy files to the desired location.

  15. Click Close and click Logout.

Recovering container in AT enabled laptops after installing IATS software

  1. From the Tray Icon, right-click Go to Secure Data Vault Manager.

  2. Enter your SDV login password and click Login.
  3. Click File > Register existing container.
  4. Browse the location where you have backed up the container and click Open.

  5. This message displays on successful registration of container. Click OK.

  6. Click registered container name and click Open. The container is now in Open mode.

  7. Double-click container name. This opens the files in new window.
  8. Copy files to the desired location.

  9. Click Close and click Logout.
