Solution
Follow one of the procedures below to update the system BIOS. Option 1 is the preferred method.

Option 1 (Asus Live Update* utility):

  1. Save all your work and close all the running applications.
  2. Launch Asus Live Update utility from your laptop, through one of two ways:
    • Click Windows > Start > All Programs > Asus Utility > Asus Live Update
    • Click Asus Live Update icon in the System Tray in lower right corner of the desktop
  3. You can get a prompt to register with Asus, in that case complete the registration.
  4. When Asus Live Update screen is visible, click Check update immediately button
    1. Depending on your settings, it can automatically download and install the updates, in that case click OK button.
    2. If prompted, select the latest version of the BIOS (version 207 or later) to update.
  5. Follow the steps, and wait for the update to complete.

Once the BIOS is updated successfully and system is restarted, go back to enroll with Intel® Anti-Theft Service.

Option 2 (Manual update using WinFlash* utility):

  1. Save all your work and close all the running applications.
  2. See Asus Technical Document on How to update BIOS with Winflash.
  3. Download Asus BIOS file and the WinFlash utility from one of the following links:
  4. Select your OS from the pull-down menu, a list of Downloads display
    1. From the BIOS Download, click latest (version 207 or later) BIOS file (Global) and save it on your local hard drive.
    2. From the BIOS-Utilities Download, click latest Windows BIOS Flash Utility (Global) and save it on your local hard drive.
  5. Follow the instructions in Step 2 to update the BIOS on your Asus system.
This step can also require extraction of the zip files for BIOS and WinFlash utility before you can install and run the utility.
