Introduction
There can be some confusion regarding VT-d support on specific processors. Some pages show the Intel® Xeon® processor 5500 series explicitly support VT-d but the information is missing from the Intel® Xeon® processor 5600 series.
Information
VT-d is not a feature of the processor itself but rather a feature of the Chipset. As long as the chipset/BIOS combination support VT-d and the processor support VT, there will be VT-d support.
