The Hyper-Threading
† Technology Test Utility will only install on the following operating systems:
- Microsoft* Windows* XP Home Edition (including Service pack 1 and Service pack 2)
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition (including Service pack 1 and Service pack 2)
- Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional X64 Edition
During installation, if a supported operating system is not found, the installation will not continue. If the OS in the system is not one listed above, or is different from what is listed on the bill-of-sale, contact the place of purchase or the system manufacturer for assistance.
Note for Linux* users:
Although the Linux distributions listed on the Hyper-Threading Technology supported operating systems page do contain optimizations for HT Technology, we do not currently provide a Hyper-Threading Technology Test Utility for Linux.
† Look for systems with the Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor with HT Technology which your system vendor has verified utilize Hyper-Threading Technology. Performance will vary depending on the specific hardware and software you use.
