Appnote 485

AP-485 - This Application Note explains how to use the CPUID instruction in software applications, BIOS implementations, and tools. By taking advantage of the CPUID instruction, software developers can create software applications and tools that can execute compatibly across the widest range of Intel® processor generations and models, past, present, and future.

New Intel processor signature and feature bits information can be obtained from the users manual, programmers reference manual or appropriate documentation for a processor. In addition, Intel can provide you with updated versions of the programming examples included in this application note; contact your Intel representative for more information.
