Intel® Desktop Processor order codes typically are either boxed order codes or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) order codes.
The boxed order code belongs to the retail or boxed processor product that usually comes with a processor, a manual, a sticker and a fan-heatsink. These products are sold in the channel and come with an Intel 3-year warranty. Intel provides technical support and warranty services for these processors.
The OEM order code, also known as the tray order code, refers to processors sold directly to large system manufacturers who integrate these processors in their PCs. These system manufacturers provide the technical support and warranty services for these processors directly to the customer.
If you click on a link in the table below in the order code columns, it will take you to a database that provides the processor specifications for that processor.

The Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor Family has several package types. It is important that you select a desktop board that supports your specific package type and has BIOS support for your processor.
1 A 'T' or 'T2' at the end of a boxed order code denotes a processor shipped with Balanced Technology Extended (BTX) thermal solutions. A 'T' is a type 1 and a 'T2' is a type 2 thermal solution. | |
