The boxed Intel® Pentium® 4 processor Extreme Edition in the 775-land package built using 130nm process does not support 4-wire fan speed control.
The boxed processor version of this processor ships with a fan heatsink that supports 4-wire fan speed control; however, the processor does not support this feature.
Like previous thermal solutions for boxed Pentium 4 processors, the variable speed fan will determine the appropriate speed based on the air temperature above the fan.
