When installing the Xircom® Portgear USB Parallel Printer or Xircom® PortStation Parallel Module in Windows* 2000, the Add New Hardware Wizard may not appear and you may not be prompted for drivers.
Resolution:
The driver for both the PGPC36 and STDB25 are included with Windows 2000. No additional drivers should be necessary to install the devices. When the device is attached to the computer USB port, Windows should automatically detect the USB device and bring up the Add New Hardware Wizard. Proceed through the wizard by clicking Next. The wizard should find a driver for the device and install it.
To verify that the device is installed correctly, follow the steps below:
1. Open the Control Panel --(Start -Settings-Control Panel) and double click System. Select the Hardware tab and click the Device Manager button.
2. In the Device Manager, click the plus sign (+) next to Universal Serial Bus Controller. Under here you should see USB Printer Support.
