There are 4 steps in uninstalling TrueSync*.
- If you are using TrueSync* Desktop as your Personal Information Manager (PIM), then first back-up your data. (If your using TrueSync Plus and your PIM is not TrueSync Desktop, then skip to step 2)
- Click on Start
- Click on Programs
- Click on Windows Explorer
- Click on the + next to Program Files
- Click on the + next to Starfish
- Click on the + next to TrueSync Desktop
- Double click on UserData folder.
- Copy the information in the UserData folder
- Create a folder on your desktop called TSBACK and copy the information from UserData to that new folder.
- Remove the Software:
- Click on Start Bar
- Click on Settings
- Click on Control Panel
- Click on Add/Remove Programs
- Find the TrueSync Desktop and remove
- Remove the TrueSync folders:
- Click on Start
- Click on Programs
- Click on Windows Explorer*
- Open the Program Files folder
- Find the Starfish subfolder and delete it
- Open the Windows folder
- Find the TrueSync Setup subfolder and delete it
- Open the Windows\Temp folder
- Find the TrueSync Temp subfolder and delete it
- Remove the TrueSync Folders from the Windows Registry:
Warning: The following procedure changes the system registry. Incorrect changes to the registry can result in loss of data or system operation. We strongly recommend making a copy of your registry before proceeding. Please consult your Microsoft documentation for detailed instructions for creating a registry backup.
- Click on Start
- Click on Run
- Type REGEDIT
- Click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
- Click on Software
- Open up the Starfish folder and delete all Subfolders
- Reboot. The uninstall is now complete.
- Reinstall TrueSync Desktop or TrueSync Plus from the CD Rom. You can also download the software from our web.
- It will ask you for an ISBN Number. You will find this number on the back of the REX card above the second set of foiled numbers (i.e. 1-56712-***.X). Use the dashes and the X is capital.
- Once installed, copy the information that you saved to the TSBACK folder back into the UserData folder.
