XircomŪ REX 6000 (REX6000)
No COM Port Available in Intellisync when Using REX 6000 Serial Docking Station

Issue:
When running Intellisync for Rex, the COM Port Selection box is empty and no COM port can be selected when the REX6000 Serial Docking Station is used.

Resolution:
Below is a checklist when the COM Port Selection box is empty when running Intellisync for Rex:

  1. Check the batteries on the Serial Docking Station. A simple test is to insert your REX6000 in the Serial Docking Station. When the REX6000 is inserted, it should show the word "Ready" in the middle of the screen. If the REX6000 is not turning on or not showing the ready status when inserted, change the batteries in the Serial Docking Station.

  2. Ensure that the COM Ports are properly installed in Windows.

  3. In your System BIOS, the Serial Port or Com Port must be enabled or turned on (There may be more than one). For information on how to do this, please refer to your Computer Manufacturer.

  4. If you have any other synchronization software such as HotSync or ActiveSync (there are other synchronization software aside from these two), either disable it or configure it to use a different COM port.
