To configure a remote networking dial-up connection for computers running Windows* CE and Xircom® Compact Flash Modem, follow the steps below:
- Select "Start" --> "Programs" --> "Communications."
- Select "Remote Networking," and then double-click "New Connection."
- Enter a name for the connection, click "Dial-Up Connection," and then click "Next."
- Select the appropriate modem from the drop down list.
- Click "Configure."
Note: If you are using TCPIP, click TCPIP settings and set the appropriate parameters.
- Once the modem and TCPIP settings are selected, click "Next."
- Enter the country, area code and phone number. Choose "Force long distance" or "Force local," if desired (this is not required).
- Click "Finish."
- To dial, double-click the newly created icon.
To enter an alternate initialization string, follow the steps below:
- Click the desired connection icon.
- Select "File" --> "Properties" --> "Configure."
- Click the Manual Dial checkbox.
- Click the "Call Options" tab.
- Enter the desired initialization string in the "Extra Settings" field.
