How to check the installation status.
- Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties from the list.
- Click the Device Manager tab, and then expand the Ports entry (click the plus symbol to the left of Ports).
- Verify that the USB Serial port exists and record the assigned number for future reference.
If the USB ports are not present do the following:
- Open Control Panel and double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- Select the USB entry, and then click Remove.
- Restart the computer and allow Windows to re-install the software for the Xircom PortGear device.
