If no extra PROSet tabs appear in Device Manager after a driver upgrade, follow the steps below:
-
Open regedit and browse to the following location:
HKLM\Software\Intel\ NETWORK_SERVICES \NCS\ANS\
Double click on the registry key AnsMiniportInf and write down the value data for this particular key. Repeat for the AnsProtocolInf registry key. The value of each key should be something like this C:\WINNT\INF\oem5.inf. This is the ANS inf file that is used by PROSet.
-
Browse to the directory indicated by the registry keys mentioned above and delete the inf and pnf file. For example, if the value of AnsProtocolInf is "javascript:void(null);" then oem5.inf and oem5.pnf should both be deleted.
-
To make sure there are not any additional ANS files on the system, open each additional oem*.inf file and check to see if it says "Intel® Advanced Network Services Virtual Adapter" or "Intel® Advanced Network Services Transport" in the header at the top of the file.
-
Install the latest drivers.
