To identify your wired Ethernet adapter and driver, choose from the following:
Intel® System Identification Utility Identify Your Adapter using the Part Number Label How to find you adapter name, driver version, and Intel® PROSet version in Microsoft Windows* How to identify your adapter in Linux* Adapter part number to driver identification
Intel® System Identification Utility (Intel® SIU) Requirements:
- Internet connection
- Run the utility on the computer being updated; the utility cannot be downloaded for offline use.
Run the Intel® System Identification Utility (Intel® SIU).to automatically identify your adapter.
To use the utility, accept the licensing agreement when prompted. After you run the utility, click Advanced > Wired Network Information to see your product, driver version, and driver status.

Identify Your Adapter using the Part Number Label You can manually look for the part number on your adapter. If your network adapter plugs into your computer, the part number is on a barcode label. The part number is a six-digit number, followed by a hyphen, and three more digits. Using this barcode example, showing the part number of 721383-006.
The three-digit number following the hyphen is a minor revision number and is not needed to identify your adapter.

Identify Intel® Ethernet Adapters using PCI Device ID or part number provides a cross reference list between part numbers, PCI device IDs, product codes, and links to software and drivers.

How to find your adapter driver version and device name in Linux* Choose from the following options for finding your driver version and device name:
- To find a list of Ethernet port names and their hardware addresses:
- Use the 'ip link' command from the iproute2 package
- Example:
