My Adapter Fails to Wake Up on Multicast Magic Packets from S5

Symptom(s):
My adapter fails to wake up on multicast magic packets from S5.

Cause:
Wakeup.exe sends the magic packet to the wrong IP address which is not recognized by the adapter and prevents the adapter from waking up from an S5 state.

Solution:
Wakeup.exe sends the magic packet to 224.0.0.255, which is not recognized by the adapter and prevents the adapter from waking up. Magpac.exe sends the wake up packet to 224.0.0.1 which is recognized by the adapter enabling the adapters to wake the system from S5.

It is recommended that the system administrator use other magic packet generators such as Magpak.exe to generate wake up packets to wake systems from S5.
