Too Many Devices Using the PCI Bus Interrupt in Windows* 98

Symptom(s):
Intermittent network connection or No network connection.

Cause:
Too many devices are attached to the PCI Bus prohibiting the Xircom® adapter from initializing correctly

Solution:
1. Disable the USB device in Device Manager.

a. Open Control Panel, and then double-click the System icon.
b. Click the Device Manager tab, and then expand the Universal Serial Bus entry.
c. Select the USB Controller and then click Properties.
d. Place a check in the "Disable in this Hardware Profile box and then click OK.

2. Restart the computer for the changes to take effect.

3. Test the Xircom adapter functionality.

4. Re-enable the USB device in the Device Manager. Windows 98 should re-enumerate the device and assign it another IRQ.
