Symptom(s):
When installing the Windows* 98 driver for the Intel Gigabit Desktop adapters, the installation runs smoothly.
Upon reboot, the customer receives a "VFAT Device initialization Failed" error and can only boot into Safe Mode.
Solution:
Install PROSet if the utility hasn't already been installed. Go to "Advanced Settings" and locate the Transmit Descriptors and Receive Descriptors. Reduce the number to 80.
Reboot.
