Networking Connectivity
Intel® Mobile Adapters
Xircom® CBEM/RBEM/R2BEM Network Connections are Intermittent

Intermittent network connections may be experienced as follows:

  • No Network Login
  • Disconnected from network after successful login
  • No Domain Server found.
This is generally caused by overlapping I/O addresses in the operating system which result in intermittent network connections.

Xircom® and Microsoft* have identified an incompatibility with Windows* Me (Millennium Edition) and Xircom® CardBus Ethernet 10/100+Modem 56 (CBEM56G-100), Xircom® RealPort CardBus Ethernet 10/100+Modem 56 (RBEM56G-100), and Xircom® RealPort2 CardBus Ethernet 10/100+Modem 56 (R2BEM56G-100) PC Cards. The incompatibility occurs when using the card to connect to a network.

A possible workaround is to disable the network portion of the card. Consult the Windows "Help Section" to find out more information on hardware profiles.

This configuration is offered as a work-around. Xircom does not support the products listed here in Windows Me.
