Your Intel® PRO/100 Management or Desktop Adapter can be used in any of these systems if the 3-pin cable is not attached. If your system is not listed here, follow these guidelines:
- Check the power supply label on your IBM computer. Look for the value +5SB. If the rating is equal to or higher than the requirements for your version of the PRO/100 Management or Desktop adapter (see the table below), the power supply is adequate. If the rating is less than the requirement, do not attempt to use the Intel® PRO/100 Management or Desktop adapter in this computer.
- If the power supply is adequate, check the Wake-on-LAN* connector. If it is a three-pin connector, you can use the PRO/100 Management adapter with the standard cable. If it is equipped with a two-pin connector, you can use the PRO/100 Management or Desktop adapter with the two-pin to three-pin adapter cable.
