Q1. Why is Intel no longer offering the PRO/100 SMART Adapter?
A1. This adapter was discontinued due to customer preference for full duplex Fast Ethernet PCI devices.
Q2. How long will Intel provide drivers for the PRO/100 SMART Adapter?
A2. Intel will continue to provide existing drivers as long as automated self help exists; but there will be no future development or updated drivers.
Q3. How long will Intel provide support for the PRO/100 SMART Adapter?
A3.Telephone support via Intel technicians ended October 2000. Free software and technical troubleshooting information will continue via our online services through at least December 2000.
Q4. What if I have problems with my PRO/100 SMART Adapter and need an RMA. Will you still honor the warranty?
A4. The PRO/100 SMART Adapter has a Limited Lifetime Warranty which Intel will continue to honor. Adapters replaced under the Warranty will be replaced with a PRO/100 SMART Adapter until supplies are exhausted. After that, another Intel adapter will be provided but no other Intel adapter provides support for Novell's SFT III software. Please see the Warranty form.
Q5. Since Intel will no longer offer the PRO/100 SMART Adapter, are you recommending a different product?
A5. There is no direct replacement for the PRO/100 SMART adapter. However, all of the newer adapters add many features from full duplex through advanced management and security.
