In April 2001 Intel announced the discontinuation of the Intel® PRO/100+ Management Adapter (PILA8460B).

Q1. Why is Intel no longer offering the PRO/100+ Management Adapter?
A1. This adapter is being discontinued due to customer preference for the Intel PRO/100 S Desktop Adapter (PILA8460C3).

Q2. How long will Intel provide drivers for the PRO/100+ Management Adapter?
A2. It is Intel's plan that the driver suite for the PRO/100 S LAN Adapter family will continue to be backward compatible with the PRO/100+ Management Adapter.

Q3. How long will Intel provide support for the PRO/100+ Management Adapter?
A3. Telephone and email support via Intel technicians will continue through December 2003.

Q4. What if I have problems with my PRO/100+ Management Adapter and need an RMA. Will you still honor the warranty?
A4. The PRO/100+ Management Adapter has a Limited Lifetime Warranty, which Intel will continue to honor. Adapters replaced under the Warranty will be replaced with the same or similar product. Please see the warranty statement in your user manual for warranty details.

Q5. Since Intel will no longer offer the PRO/100+ Management Adapter, are you recommending a different product?
A5. Yes. We recommend upgrading to the Intel PRO/100 S Desktop adapter (PILA8460C3), which is Intel's current generation 10/100 Mbps adapter and our first single chip adapter to include a fully integrated on-board encryption engine. The single chip design optimizes performance and enhances reliability characteristics of the PRO/100 S.
