Intel® PRO/100 M Desktop Adapter
My computer won't boot if an Intel® PRO/100 M Desktop Adapter is installed.

Some computers may not boot if an early version of the Intel® PRO/100 M Desktop Adapter is installed. The system will power up (fans will run, and lights may light) but it will not run the Power-On Self Test (POST).

The adapters that may exhibit this symptom have a PBA number of A80897-003. If you encounter this issue, move the adapter to another computer and update the Intel® Boot Agent to the latest version. The Intel® Boot Agent can be downloaded in the file PROBOOT.EXE. Instructions on how to update the Boot Agent are included.
