Symptom(s):
On an Intel® Server System SR9000MK4U, the following dual port server adapters cannot be removed using the system's Hot Plug functionality:
- Intel® PRO/1000 PT Dual Port Server Adapter
- Intel® 10 Gigabit XF SR Dual Port Server Adapter
- Intel® 82598EB 10 Gigabit AF Dual Port Network Connection
After pressing the hotplug power on/off switch on the server, a message similar to the following is displayed:
Problem Ejecting Intel® 10 Gigabit XF SR Dual Port Server Adapter #N
The device cannot be stopped because of an unknown error. Since this device is still being used, do not remove it.
Solution:
Use the Windows* Safely Remove Hardware utility to remove the adapters.
