ERROR: Print server does not service Bindery Reference Queues

Symptom:
Using NetPort® Manager v4.10 or earlier, NetportExpress™ (XL/EL or PRO) print server does not service Bindery Reference Queues.

Description:
NetPort Manager does not create the proper links between the Bindery Reference Queue and the printer object in NDS.

Solution:
Perform the initial configuration as usual. Then go into Pconsole and create the links by hand (see steps listed below).

Steps to create links to Bindery Reference Queue:

  1. Run Pconsole on the v4.1 server
  2. Choose PRINTERS
  3. Choose the printer for the NetPort port to be used (something like NPXXXXXX-LPT1)
  4. Choose PRINT QUEUES ASSIGNED
  5. Press INSERT
  6. Highlight the bindery reference queue and press ENTER

Save the changes, reset the NetportExpress™ and it should work. This should be corrected in v4.20 of NetPort Manager (due in late Q'4 1996).

    This applies to:
    Intel® NetportExpress™ PRO and PRO/100 Print Servers
